Whittall and Burkitt Place Fourth

After tearing up the first half of the uphill loop, Ian Whittall ’14 and Sean Burkitt ’14 cruised down the final rolling hill, sprinting their way to a fourth place finish in 32:59.

The Easton Team Trial was Andover’s first partner race of the season. Each pair’s time wass based off the slower rider’s finish.

Whittall ’14 and Burkitt ’14 took fourth place behind two Killington Mountain School pairs and an Exeter pair.

“The race went well simply because Ian and I work very well together and in a time trial setting we can play on both of our strengths. Ian is a great climber and overall rider and I like to sprint and do time trials more, so this moderately hilly course worked well for us.” Said Burkitt ’14.

Also competing in the Boys Group, Logan Blaine ’14 and Nick Swenson ’15 took home eighth place with a time of 34:08.

In Girls A Group Zoe Chazen ’14 and Liana Margolese ’15 finished fifth with a time of 41:37.

“It was Liana’s first time riding in group A, she did a great job today and I am very proud of the way she raced. . . I think if we were to have another partner race this season Liana and I could finish even better than we did today,” said Chazen.

Andover has its next race on on Saturday, at Gould Academy.
