Field Hockey

Andover With a 10-3 record and only one more regular season game to play, the Varsity Field Hockey Team surpassed its own and everyone else’s expectations this year. The foundation to the team’s success came from Goalie Ale Moss ’07 who took over the challenge of goal keeper when the senior goalie injured herself, and played consistently well in the net. Many players were key contributors offensively: Lauren Seno ’05 led the team in goals, Katherine Dix ’05 played with a great combination of finesse and speed, and Erica Christenson ’05 came up big when Andover was desperate for goals. The defense was overwhelming for many other teams, with great performances from Lindsay Moramarco ’06, Jevan Jammal ’06, and Megan Montecalvo ’06 which were crucial to Andover’s success this season. Exeter Looking over Exeter’s field hockey schedule, Andover should be confident going into their contest with Exeter on Saturday. Two of Exeter’s losses and one of their ties came at the hands of opponents that Andover was able to gain victories against with much ease. At times though, Exeter was able to blow out opponents and put up large numbers on the board. As long as Andover shows up and plays at the level they are capable of, they will be able to leave finishing off their regular season with a victory.
