Downtown Delectables

CAFÉS Starbucks Coffee Located almost everywhere in the world, Starbucks Coffee is by far the most frequently visited café on Main Street. Great coffee, aromatic tea and luscious chocolate chip cookies attract almost every student to downtown. Dunkin Donuts Almost all of Phillips Academy’s advisors have visited this place to feed worn-out students during advisee meetings on Friday. Great for inexpensive coffee and a box of a dozen (hopefully not more) doughnuts. Bruegger’s Bagels If Starbucks provides the beverages, then Bruegger’s offers the grub. Located right next to Starbucks, Bruegger’s Bagels offer a convenient, tasty alternative to Paresky Commons. The bagels and sandwiches are tasty, but not too special. Warning: Bruegger’s is NOT an extension of Starbucks—casually sitting down in Breugger’s with a Starbucks cup in your hand will get you a scolding. The Ultimate Perk Tired of Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts coffee? Take a stroll down to The Ultimate Perk, located right across from Dunkin Donuts. Friendly service, tasty coffee and outdoor seating make the Ultimate Perk a frequent visit for coffee. Boston King Café Located a bit further from campus on North Main Street next to the Memorial Hall Library, Boston King Café is very popular. A wide selection is available on its breakfast menu and sandwich menu, and top favorites include the Grilled Steak Portabello, French Chicken Cutlet, fruit smoothies and frozen yogurt. To delight students even further, Boston King Café offers delivery, saving them from a long walk downtown. RESTAURANTS AND TAKE-OUT Bertucci’s Who doesn’t love Bertucci’s rolls? Crowded almost all weekend nights, Bertucci’s offers tasty, familiar Italian dishes for a decent price. Perfect for a dinner with visiting parents. Dylan’s Bar & Grill Want meat? Complete with burgers, steaks, French fries and other greasy recipes, Dylan’s offers the hearty, filling American meal. Dylan’s is the perfect place to watch sports on a flat screen TV. Delicious desserts and cakes are also available for those of who wish to celebrate birthdays. Thai Sweet Basil The perfect restaurant to visit on a Sunday with the Shawsheen shuttle, Thai Sweet Basil offers delightful pad thai, crazy noodles, basil friend rice and a top favorite, Thai iced tea. Yella Even Bertucci’s rolls lose its charm once in a while—visit Yella for its mouth-watering bread and hummus. Yella offers a wide selection of Mediterranean food, and though it opened less than a year ago, Yella is the new gem of downtown Andover. With its elegant atmosphere, great service and amazing food, Yella matches any top-notch restaurant in Boston. King’s Subs & Pizza Not enough time to spare for a trip to commons? King’s Subs & Pizza offers reasonably priced, tasty pizzas and subs that deliver right to your dorm. Mootone & Teatone Every student craves for some Asian food one day or another. Fine alternatives to Yama, visit Mootone or Teatone, offering Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The food is also available for take-out. Domino’s Pizza Great pizza for take-out, and delivery is usually very quick. What more is there to say?
