Ahead of his highly awaited sophomore album, “Take Care,” Drake doesn’t fail to deliver with single “Make Me Proud.” This Canadian takes a break from normal rap ideology to respectfully, albeit with the curse words, admire a woman who works hard and has big dreams. This woman he is interested in does not give in to her pressures and Drake turns the song into the perfect commercial rap girl-power anthem. Nicki Minaj really kills it, however, when she bursts out intensely free-styling the poor song. Finally, an empowering rap-song that doesn’t sacrifice on the sickness.
