Girls Track Attacks Exeter

Marhelich Santos ’12 slashed her personal record by 30 seconds in Andover Girls Track’s clean sweep of Exeter last Wednesday. Both the boys and girls on Andover Indoor Track performed well against Exeter, but in the end, the boys team could not secure the win. Michael Frasco ’12 led the boys, showing his great versatility and talent. Frasco participated in four different races: the mile, the two mile, the 1,000 yard and the 4×400 relay. “My mindset going in was to do everything possible to help the team win,” said Frasco, “It didn’t matter what race I ran, what time I split or how tired I was.” “[Michael is a] speed demon; he is amazing and crazy,” said Anoush Shehadeh ’15,. While the boys team was disappointed in its loss, the girls were ecstatic to end their regular season on a high note. Andover’s strong finish bodes well for the post-season meets in the coming weeks. Looking forward, Andover anticipates the upcoming New England Championships. “I and a lot of other people are hoping to get a season best, if not, a personal record in the New England Championships,” said Shehadeh. Andover will compete in the New England Championships this Sunday.
