Late in the fourth quarter against Brooks, Peter Bensen ’14 scooped up the ground ball and sprinted up the field. Bensen powered through the defense and ripped a shot past the goalie to score to game-winning goal for Andover.

Andover Boys Lacrosse did exactly what it needed to do in order to get back on track for the season. After three consecutive losses, the team dominated Kimball Union Academy by a score of 9-2, and then edged Brooks 7-6 in comeback fashion.

“The K.U.A. game was a great win for us, our defense played awesome. In the Brooks game, we were down 3 to 6 with six minutes left and we banded together to put four [goals] in pretty quickly,” said Captain Austin Gaiss ’14.

The team’s record improved to 8-6, and it has two games left in the season: an away game against Choate and a home tilt against Exeter to wrap up the year.

“The losses are in the past. We have the potential to beat both Choate and Exeter, and we need to do both,” said Will Bergstein ’16.

The team looks to continue its winning ways at Choate this Saturday.
