Milton Academy Reports Additional Oral Sex Incidents

The 15-year-old female student at Milton Academy who allegedly performed oral sex on five members of the Boys Varsity Hockey team is reported to have performed the same act on two members of the team and on another 15-year-old boy the day before in the same locker room. According to the Boston Globe, the school will send a letter to parents explaining the incidents. In addition, the same girl reportedly attended a birthday party in a Boston hotel room during which alcohol and sexual favors were freely exchanged. The party at the Marriott Hotel in Copley Square in Boston took place two weeks after the alleged locker room incidents, but before the scandal was exposed to the public. The parents of a Milton Academy student reserved a hotel room to celebrate their daughter’s 16th birthday. An anonymous source attending the party reported that 15 to 22 teenagers partook in the birthday bash, while the girl’s parents occupied the neighboring room. The same source told the Boston Herald that two topless girls, including the alleged victim of the earlier Milton incident, welcomed male guests to the party. The source also observed the same girl perform oral sex on another boy, as well as other guests engaging in sexual acts. Alcohol was present in large quantities at the party. The girls father told the Boston Herald, “There was some evidence of drinking going on.” An employee at the Marriott Hotel verified that the mother of the birthday girl had rented two hotel rooms for the party. According to a hotel manager, the Marriott security did not notice any unusual behavior occurring at the hotel while the party was taking place. Last week Milton Academy expelled five members of the Boys Varsity Hockey team for receiving oral sex from a 15-year-old sophomore girl. The girl was asked by the school to take an administrative leave. One of the expelled boys has hired eminent Boston defense attorney Tracy A. Miner to represent him. Ms. Miner represents the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo and is best known for her defense of FBI agent John J. Connolly Jr., who was accused of obstruction of justice in the case of famous Boston mobsters James “Whitey” Bulger and Stephen Flemmi. According to the school, the disproportionate ratio of boys to girls in the sexual engagement implies coercion. In the state of Massachusetts, a person can be prosecuted for conducting intercourse or unnatural sexual acts with a person under the age of 16, even if the minor consents to the act. In Massachusetts state law, a person under the age of 16 does not possess the right to consent to a sexual encounter. Milton Academy also reported that the same girl performed oral sex on three varsity hockey players and a 15-year-old boy in a dorm room on January 22, two days before the first-reported locker room sexual encounter. A senior boy was placed on watch while the sexual activities were occurring in the dorm. Milton Academy placed the 15-year-old boy on administrative leave and suspended the senior for one week. Responding to the most recent developments, Milton Academy spokeswoman Cathleet Everett told the Boston Globe, “The decision to expell the boys absolutely stands. We made the right decision in the first instance, and we stand behind it.”
