The composition of the student body was the subject of discussion at the faculty meeting on Monday night, led by Jane Fried, Dean of Admissions. In a survey given to the faculty in November, they were asked to prioritize the category of admission recruitment they felt was most important. The categories were: racial/ethnic diversity, national diversity, international diversity, and socio-economic diversity. Faculty received an email from Fried last Thursday, prior to the meeting, reporting the results of the survey. The results of the survey indicated that faculty felt socio-economic diversity was the top priority, followed by racial/ethnic diversity, national diversity and then international diversity.
