Dear Diary,
Today was a very, very good day. Another Tuesday, another opportunity to mold the minds of young Bartletians as they sign in for a night of peaceful slumber. When every kid said hi to me as they walked past me up to their rooms, my heart smiled as if I were hit by a thousand rays of sunshine. I care so much for my little munchkins, and all I want is for them to succeed! Signing in to Reach can be difficult, and I am there to hold their hands every joyous step of the way. Tonight, I had an extra special surprise for them — I brought my famous oatmeal-raisin cookies. These fellows are so non sibi, they actually left most of them for me.
My most favorite part of the day is when I go check in on them at 11:00 p.m. sharp. I can never miss an excuse to see these precious, strong-willed, rosy-cheeked youngsters as they prepare for a wonderful night of well-earned sleep, filled with dreams of their favorite house counselor (me, I hope!). Sometimes, if the mood is right, I’ll read them bedtime stories. What fun! I know, years down the road, they’ll look upon these memories fondly — I already do. I can’t wait for next Tuesday. I sure hope I have touched these kids as much as they have touched me.
