Phillipian Satire: Senior Prank

Alas, I have finished my academic growth at Phillips Academy Andover. It is time to get up to some shenanigans and some tomfoolery with a senior prank. Just as each of the last seven generations of my family did when they attended Andover, I plan to absolutely destroy campus, with a singular apple. As they famously say, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Today, I will rid the campus of the scariest doctor of them all — Dr. Raynard Kington.

I began my prank by going to Whole Foods and purchasing their finest red apple. It must be pristine, like my academic record. Now I must wait. The following day, after my Art class, I stuck a book in the door of George Washington Hall (GW) to stop the door from locking.

I come back in the dead of night, when I should be asleep. This late, at six p.m., the guards (custodians) are making their final sweeps of the grounds. I sneak in, understanding that if I get caught, I have to act like I forgot something. Nobody should be in GW this late, so I am a little scared that they won’t believe me, but I make it through the doors and into the Head of School office safely. It was time to execute my great prank. I walked in, and left the apple in Doctor Kington’s chair. I sprinted out of the office as quickly as I could, and went to sleep.

The next morning, an emergency text was sent out, and I thought my prank had worked. I wasn’t totally wrong, but the Deans very quickly announced that Doctor Kington was bedridden because he was severely allergic to a type of apple, the same kind that I had used. I didn’t know what to do. I thought I had destroyed my family legacy at Andover. They never found out who put that apple there on that fateful day, but it will be remembered as the day Dr. Kington was gone for a few hours and then came back as normal…
