Co-Captain Julie Wadland ’06 and Jamie Harisiades ’08 led the Big Blue in points against Milton last Friday, scoring two goals in the 5-1 victory. Andover completely dominated the game, out-shooting Milton by 29 shots. With twelve minutes remaining in the first period, Harisiades ’08 one-timed the puck off of a pass from defenseman Lindsey Weiner ’08 to score the first goal. Andover seemed to be shorthanded for the entire second period. The team nevertheless extended its lead to 3-1. Co-Captain Wadland forced a turnover during a Milton powerplay and slipped the puck from the slot into the back of the net. No more than two minutes later, however, Milton took revenge and scored its only goal of the game on Andover’s Joy Joung ’07. With only a few minutes remaining in the period, Andover pressured the puck down the ice and Lindsey Moramarco ’06 gained control. Standing behind the net, Moramarco passed the puck to Co-Captain Melissa Tetreau ’06 in the slot and Co-Captain Tetreau gave Andover a 3-1 lead. At the period-ending buzzer, Co-Captain Tetreau scored yet another goal, but the referees claimed that it came too late. In the third period, Co-Captain Wadland and Harisiades each scored their second goal. Throughout the game, Milton’s defense was pitiful, not sharp or quick enough to challenge the Andover offense, On Wednesday, Andover annihilated Holderness Academy 8-1. Possessing control of the puck for most of the game, Andover consistently kept it in the offensive zone. Although the odds were high that Andover would walk away victorious from this Division II game, the team remained levelheaded and refused to be caught off guard like it was in the game against Brooks. Co-Captain Tetreau found the back of the net twice and defenseman Megan Montecalvo ’06 scored a beautiful goal. Skating the puck into the offensive zone, she deked a defenseman and shot the puck into the top right corner of the net. Defenseman Stephanie Clegg ’08 also scored a goal, off of her own rebound. Olivia Coffey ’07 assisted Ale Moss ’07’s goal, as Moss had a wide open net facing her after Coffey’s rebound. Alissa Fromkin ’09 was in the net for Andover during the first half of the game, and Joung finished it off. Holderness scored its goal late in the second period against Joung.
