Field Hockey (8-0) extended its undefeated streak with commanding shutout victories over Choate and Milton, conceding only two goals all season. The team showcased resilience, intensity, and explosive offense across both matchups, earning praise from coaches for its teamwork and consistency.
Against Choate, Andover’s offense surged with five goals off 14 corners — awarded for defensive fouls within the shooting circle — and totaled 27 shots on goal. The team’s relentless pace and quick defensive recoveries defined the performance.
In its matchup against Milton, Andover carried that same momentum, dominating possession early and scoring twice within the first three minutes of play. The team earned 13 corners throughout the game, maintaining offensive pressure and forcing Milton onto the defensive end for most of the contest. The team’s aggressive tactics and fluid ball movement continued to pay off as the season progressed.
Abigail Nager ’27 highlighted the team’s growth and collective focus throughout the week. She emphasized how practice has helped the team sustain its energy and discipline through back-to-back games.
“We’ve really been focusing on consistency, being disciplined with our press, and keeping up the energy from start to finish. Against Milton and Choate, everyone bought in, and you could feel that connection across the field,” said Nager.
Nager added that the team’s success stems from trust and communication — with each player contributing both on and off the field.
“Every player has a role, and when we all commit to doing our jobs, it makes a huge difference. The support and communication have been incredible, and it’s been really fun to see how we’ve grown as a team,” said Nager.
Field Hockey will travel to St. Paul’s on Friday, October 10.
