Girls Tennis Extends Winning Streak to 10-0 with Sweep Against Milton

Lena Ciganer-Albeniz ’25 (front) and Kendra Tomala ’26 warm-up before sweep against Milton.

Girls Tennis continued their dominant season with a commanding 10-0 victory over Milton, securing another full sweep to add to their undefeated record. The team, fueled by determination and grit throughout recent weeks, now turns their attention to NEPSAC tournament play, which begins next Saturday, May 17.

Evelyn Kung ’26 reflected on the match and highlighted standout performances, especially praising teammate and captain Lena Ciganer-Albeniz ’25 for her aggressive net play.

“I thought Lena did a really good job,” said Kung. “I was playing on the court right next to her at one point, and she was going for a lot of shots, coming up to the net, and putting a volley away—something we’ve been working on a lot in practice.”

As the team prepares for tougher competition, Kung emphasized the importance of regaining intensity and focus.

“As a team, we’re working on bringing more energy,” she said. “For NEPSACs, we have a lot of our harder matches. We haven’t really played many difficult teams since the beginning of the season, so we’re trying to bring that back. A lot of the teams we’ve been playing have been weaker, so we haven’t had to bring as much stamina and focus.”

Girls Tennis will compete in the NEPSAC tournament on Saturday, May 17.
