Boys Lacrosse (9-4) played at Loomis last Saturday, suffering a 9-13 loss. However, the team came back on Wednesday, beating St. Paul’s 10-9. The team knew St. Pauls were going to be a tough opponent, so it studied its opponents gameplay footage and carefully planned its defense to adapt to St. Paul’s dominant offence.
“We knew it was going to be a tough match. They were 10-1 on wins going into the game. We knew they were going to be a legit opponent. We focused a lot on the defensive side—proper matchups. We watched film on their offense, which let our defense adapt and play well against them,” said Tyler Miocevich ’26.
A crucial moment against St. Paul’s came when the score was 10-9. Goalkeeper Leo Oguntoyinbo ’25 made a critical save to preserve Andover’s lead, and long-stick midfielder Max Herbison ’25 swiftly carried the ball down-field. The team called a timeout with about 30 seconds remaining, allowing it to maintain possession to clinch the hard-fought victory. The team will work on its offense in anticipation for its game this Saturday against Pomfret.
