Andover vs Northfield Mount Hermon : 22-4 W
Girls Lacrosse continued its winning streak with two decisive victories against Choate Rosemary Hall and Northfield Mount Hermon. With a growing sense of cohesion and mutual support on and off the field, the team looks ahead to a promising season with the potential for many more wins.
Lola Aguirre ’26 highlighted the impressive play of teammate Charley Drouin ’25, who scored a standout twizzler shot against Choate, which was an impressive goal for the team.
“The players that stood out, that goes with like a couple good plays. Charley had a twizzler to the back of the net. It was really cool and the defense and everyone on the team played really well. Then the attack too obviously, and the goalies and the middies,” said Aguirre.
Quiana Bell ’26 praised Caroline Young ’26 for her strong performance across the field during the NMH game, noting the overall team effort that contributed to a dominant 22–4 win.
“Caroline Young had a really great game. She had two goals and she had a lot of assists. Overall, our team did a very good job of moving the ball around and spreading the wealth. We had 12 different goal scorers today, which is great. It was just a great team game. We all worked together very well,” said Bell.
Aguirre reflected on the team’s strengths in the Choate match and shared how recent practices have prepared the team for a packed upcoming schedule.
“The strengths were that we definitely shared the ball a lot, got everyone going, got everyone hype. Then what we did yesterday for practice, we kind of broke transitions down and made sure we knew how the slides were, what we were gonna do. We’re really excited for the next few weeks because it’s like game after game after game,” said Aguirre.
Bell emphasized the team’s ball control and unselfish play against NMH, noting crisp passing and consistent movement off the ball.
“we had some really good plays. Offensively, we were moving the ball very well and a lot of our goals were off of really good cuts or really good drives to the net. I remember seeing a lot of those, some really good passing, moving the ball more than once. There were so many, just unselfish plays. our strengths were definitely draw controls. We had some really good draws today. A lot of people were stepping up and also some strengths were the amount of threats. Everyone on [NMH’s] offense was afraid to drive to the net. Everybody was dangerous with the ball, but we’re also not afraid to pass it. Having that team aspect was really great,” said Bell.
Looking ahead to Friday’s matchup, Bell shared what the team has been focusing on in preparation for a tougher opponent, Dexter Southfield.
“We have a game coming up on Friday versus Dexter Southfield which we all know it’s going to be a more competitive game. Going forward and this next practice for tomorrow, we’re gonna work a lot on running through our plays and just cleaning up a lot of things, the things we’ve been doing. For example, practicing going into our backer, which is a double on the ball, taking the ball to the net and honing in on some of those smaller aspects of the game like going for all those like ground balls. That will really help us going forward in our next few games,” said Bell.
Girls Lacrosse faces Dexter Southfield this Friday.
