In preparation for Andover/Exeter (A/E) this upcoming weekend, students dressed up according to different spirit day prompts. Monday was Bikers vs. Surfers, Tuesday was generations, and Wednesday was pajama day. Thursday was Exeter geek day, and to end the week, on Friday students dressed up in Andover Blue!

“I wore a regular outfit and I wore a bikini top on top of all the layers to make it beachy but also incorporate the everyday look. I felt silly, and I felt hype, and it was a good prep outfit for the rest of the week. I feel like we’ve seen this one in the past and I liked it a lot. Even though there wasn’t a lot of participation with it, when people did dress up they went all out.”

“I wore a grandmother nightgown, grandmother pearls, a grandmother church hat, and a grandmother scarf because I wanted to really fully embrace the senior citizen energy and really immerse myself in what it feels like to be an old person for the day. My clothes even smelled like old people so that helped a lot too. I think the psyche just got me in the fun-loving spirit that A/E is all about.”

“I was really excited when I saw the Teen Beach Movie psyche because I love that movie and I knew I had the perfect thing to wear. My dad used to ride a motorcycle and I chose to wear his old riding jacket to be a biker. Even though it was a little too big and super heavy, I think I ate with this psyche. I really like that this spirit week day was different from when the Blue Keys [Heads] usually do and I’m really hype for Exeter!”

“Day two was generations and I dressed up as an old woman, an old lady. In my Blue Key bin, I found a lot of accessories… I actually had enough so I could pass some out to all my friends so we could all participate which was really fun. One fun little thing we did, and a lot of Blue Key Heads did, was we carried around baby powder and put it in people’s hair to make it grey, so that was a fun little addition. I also had the classic glasses, and many friends had canes and baggy clothes.”

“Starting from the bottom, I got the Uggs with some white socks—I don’t think they’re the right socks but it’s okay. Then we got the Target Spiderman blue pajama pants all the way down to the ankles. Then we got the 2XL shirt that says “Chucks and Pearls.” We got some Chuck Taylors on, we got some pearls on there. I wore my bonnet, I had my Batman Build-A-Bear, and I carried around the PSPA blanket that we got for free this year.”
