Abbot Cabaret, a collection of student performances such as spoken word poetry and jazz bands, was held in Kemper Auditorium, on January 28 at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
The Bassment, a dance organized by the student-run Andover Edition club, was held on January 28 from 9:15 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in Lower Right of Paresky Commons. The dress code was all-black casual. The event included music, dancing, a photo booth, snacks, and beverages.
Looking Ahead
Dance Open will take place in the Cristina A. Rubio Dance Studio in the Pan Athletic Center. There will be an open dress rehearsal for faculty and Seniors on February 2 at 8:00 p.m. The showtimes are February 3 and 4 at 7:30 p.m. It will feature work choreographed and performed entirely by students, and will be directed by Minh-Khue DoBa ’24, Jacob Kaiser ’24, Mia Pao ’24, and Ashley Park ’24.
A conversation and reading with Estela Gonzalez, author of the novel “Arribada,” will be held on February 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Kemper Auditorium.
The Music Department will be hosting multiple recitals and performances. The second student recital of the term will be held on February 8 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Timken Room in Graves Hall. Additionally, the Chamber Music Society will be performing on February 11 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on February 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Addison Gallery of American Art, will be hosting a reception for the new winter exhibitions on February 18 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The reception provides an opportunity to meet artists Allison Elizabeth Taylor and Lavaughan Jenkins, explore the new exhibitions and artwork, and enjoy refreshments.
