Girls Lacrosse (11-1) added to its win streak this past week, going 4-0 since last Wednesday. The team beat each of its opponents convincingly: it defeated Dexter Southfield 14-7, Brewster Academy 18-0, Pingree 14-8, and Dana Hall 20-3. The team has lost only one game this season and seeks to continue its success in the remainder of its games.
The team is very tight-knit both on and off the field. Quiana Bell ’26 commented on the attitude of the team and their drive to win.
“We just had a really great team attitude. We put a great emphasis on team chemistry and building relationships with each other off the field too. The competitiveness that we have as a team and during practices that really shows up because we all just really wanna work towards getting those wins. Everybody has a drive that we just wanna win, we wanna show up as a team and that should break really nicely,” Bell said.
Earlier this season, Girls Lacrosse celebrated two of the team’s three Senior Co-Captains for achieving milestones in their high school careers: Neicia Smith ’25 recorded 200 points — accumulated through goals and assists — and Lauren Herlihy ’25 scored her hundredth goal. Facing Dana Hall on Wednesday, Co-Captain Charley Drouin ’25 passed the 100-goal mark. Bell described the clear show of camaraderie and selflessness.
Bell said, “Today it was really energetic, really hype because everyone got the chance to play which doesn’t happen all the time. After the first quarter all of the players who don’t usually get that playtime got to go in and seeing them on the field and seeing them make those plays made everyone so excited cause we all really want to support each other and see your teammates have success, so I feel like that was very hype energy. Same thing during our Pingree game having Charlie get her 100th goal, because I feel like all our energy comes from seeing a play happen or something that so unselfish. For team attitude, so much of our energy comes from seeing the success of our teammates, which is great.”
The team will face Austin Prep on Saturday, The Rivers School on Monday, and Groton School on Wednesday.
