On Saturday, Andover Girls Lacrosse traveled to Loomis for its 12th game of the season. After coming out of the gates on fire, Andover and Loomis traded goals the rest of the way, culminating in a tight 11-12 loss for Andover.
After a late goal whistled off by the referees, Loomis held Andover for the remaining few minutes and ran away with the winning point.
On Wednesday, Andover dropped another tight, high scoring game against Thayer Academy 13-14. Andover started the game off strong with three goals from Captain Nekele McCall ’14 and three goals from Caroline Garrity ’15. At halftime, Andover led 9-8.
After quick goals coming out of the break, Andover grabbed at 12-8 lead. Thayer proceeded to go on a 4-0 run and tied the game up with six minutes left.
Knotted up late in the game, Hannah Burns ’15 managed to thread a goal through the defense and past the goalie off an assist from Lexi Davidson ’17 to give Andover the one-goal lead.
Thayer answered back not once, but twice before the game ended to eke out the 13-14 win over Andover.
With two games left in its season, Andover will look to finish off strong as it takes on Brooks and Exeter.
