Girls Crew

Andover Girls Crew once again fell to archrivals Exeter in their second meeting in a month.

In the first heat, Exeter took the lead within the first 500 meters of the race, and Andover lagged by just a few seats.

G1 Andover opened up its lead on Tabor in the middle 500 meters and began chasing Exeter.

Andover threatened the Exeter lead in the final sprint but finished almost four seconds later than the winners. Tabor gained a few seats back on Andover and came in only 0.6 seconds behind G1.

“We are the second fastest crew in New England, and in order to be the fastest and beat Exeter, we have to work twice as hard over the course of the next two weeks before NEIRA’s. Beating Exeter is definitely within our reach we just need to build up the confidence and believe in ourselves and our abilities,” said Vienna Kuhn ’16.

G2 was not as close to Exeter, losing by 12.7 seconds but placing above both Northfield Mount Hermon and Tabor.

“Exeter is our biggest competition for Interschols and we are only three seconds off of them so that’s not a horrible place to be. We are working on getting extra inches off of each stroke, because its all the little inches that will make up the three seconds that we are behind,” said Willa Tellekson-Flash ’14.
