Andover Boys Volleyball dropped two crucial matches to Wilbraham Monson and Exeter in a double header last Saturday.
Despite beating Wilbraham 3-1 on April 26, Andover fell in two closely contested sets.
“We wasted a lot of points because we weren’t working together,” said Kade Call ’14.
With better teamwork against Exeter in the second match, Andover narrowly took the first set 25-21.
“When we were energetic, we won strings of points on killer hits by [Co-Captain] Alex Tamkin [’14] on the outside. We had strings of good serves too. We just needed to be consistent,” said Call.
That momentum came to a halt in the second and third set, and Andover paid for it.
“There were strings of points where our side of the court was silent. During those points we played hesitantly and made lots of mistakes,” said Call.
Andover went on to drop the following sets, falling 2-1 to Exeter. The loss however, marked slight improvement after Exeter swept Andover 3-0 earlier in the season.
The two losses will follow Andover into the final tournament this weekend.
