Short of Crosstown Rival

**Andover (L): 6-5**

Andover Girls Softball team opened the season up with an eight-inning scrimmage against crosstown rival Andover High. The team fell 6-5.

Ravenne Nasser ’15 toed the rubber for PA for the first six innings of the game, tossing a “lights out performance,” said Victoria Bergeron ’16.

“Ravenne pitched great,” said catcher Mackenzie Bradford ’15, who added a two-run single on a first pitch outside fastball that she roped into left. “That changeup was on fire,” she added.

Jen Kaplan ’15 came out of the bullpen for three solid innings following Nasser’s dominant performance to close out the game.

Madi Bradford ’17 played solid defense and had a gritty performance at the plate, slapping three hits throughout the course of the game and moving up base runners into scoring position. She tallied two RBIs for herself in the loss.

Andover will play North Andover on Saturday.
