Athlete of the Week

A four-year Varsity player, Katie Kreider ’14 has been a force in the center midfield this year for Andover Girls Soccer (6-7-1). Kreider’s composure with the ball and her precise passing allow her to dominate the center of the field. While Kreider excels at setting her teammates up, her powerful shot has proven to be a lethal and effective weapon for the team. Kreider’s efforts have earned her place as The Phillipian’s Athlete of the Week.

I started playing soccer when I was about five, mostly because everybody in town started playing then.

I usually wonder what just happened.

Do you have any special pre-game superstitions/rituals?

What’s your favorite way to celebrate a win?

Eating whatever I want.

Most memorable game/goal/practice/moment on the field?

The Choate game. The atmosphere of playing under the lights on Smoyer was awesome, and it was such a big win for us.

Onesies and snuggies, with the occasional bath robe.

What will you miss most about Andover Soccer?

The girls on the team, and being all together.

Coolest thing about having a brother in the NHL?

It’s pretty surreal. To me he is still just the older brother that beats me up when he comes home.
