BOYSBASKETBALL

After battling through a close game for much of the second half, Andover Boys JV Basketball fell to Exeter 54-60 on Saturday. In classic Andover/Exeter fashion, the fans were vocal and enthusiastic in cheering on their respective teams. “It was great to play in front of so many of our fans and so many of the Exeter fans as well,” said Kurtis Weber ’15. The first half was rough for Andover, and the team had a 15 point deficit going into halftime. “After a rough first half, we kept our heads up and pulled together at halftime,” said Weber. Andover then increased its defensive intensity in the second half, cutting Exeter’s lead to two points in the final minutes of the second half. “Unfortunately, we couldn’t keep our intensity up the whole game, and they ended up slightly pulling away at the end. Nevertheless, it was a great game,” said Foster LeBoeuf ’15. “There was a group of guys on the team which made this year great. We went out there each day and played for both each other and the Andover across our chest,” said DeWitt Burnham ’16. Andover’s JV team consisted of players who could see playing time for the Varsity team in the future. The team ended the season with a 5-6 record.
