Over the next two weeks, the Composition of the Student Body Committee will host joint student and faculty small-group discussions that will be open to all. This is a unique opportunity for faculty and students to come together to engage in this important conversation. With a charge to “guide the admission office in developing an understanding of youth from every quarter in our time,” the trustee/faculty/student committee met at two recent trustee meetings. We discussed educational, demographic and admission trends and their potential impact on the composition of the student body. We hope to spread conversation concerning the leadership role of Phillips Academy, the enrollment of students at all secondary grade levels and the increased specialization of the applicant pool.
