Captain Ben Bramhall ’07 believes Andover Boys Track will have an exceptionally successful spring season. Although several important runners have graduated, such as Zoom Ibric ’06 for the 800, Mario Noyola ’06 for pole vault, and Sean Hamilton ’06 for distance, Bramhall believes that Andover Boys Track is still favored to win the Interscholastic Championship title. The talent of fresh faces on the team along with effective training and improvement will be key in Andover’s success. Key returning competitors include Lou Tejada ’08, captain of the 2008 Boys Indoor Track team and an experienced runner, who will be sprinting for the outdoor track team this spring. Chad Hollis ’08, a returning sprinter, ran a 51.09 in a 400 at Interchols last year, and will help lead the team to success. Jae Kim ’07, who came in fourth in the triple jump at Interschols last year will also be a big point getter. Casey Shannon, a skilled thrower in the shot put, along with Joe O’Hern, a good discus thrower, will also add to the team’s lineup. The coaches, including Head Coach Corbin Lang, will see what they have to work with on Saturday, during the team’s first competition at home with Reading at 1 p.m.
